Senior Caregivers Ready to Serve the Elderly in Calabasas

Looking for a Caregiver this Summer for your elderly loved ones? You wouldn't be the only one. While summer is usually seen as a time to relax and give yourself a break, the case oftentimes is that time is still very hard to manage as families will have to juggle between work, school, and taking care of those at home, which can include both children on summer vacation and retired elderly seniors.

What can make this even more difficult are those hours during which free time is available. When going out to the beach, park, etc., it’s hard to really enjoy a break when there is either an active child to keep an eye on or an elderly relative who needs attention.

A-1 Home Care can offer a solution to families who are in such predicaments. We offer in home and live in caregivers for the elderly and physically disabled, all so that families in Calabasas can enjoy their days together without feeling too tired from caregiving. Since 1991, our senior caregivers and home health aides have been servicing families and providing them with professional and quality care, of which range from 24 Hours are to Overnight, Trained in all facets of care, our elderly caregivers have 2 years or more of caregiving experience and are CPR and first Aid Trained.

American Heart Month/ A-1 Home Care Calabasas

Enjoy healthy eating? This month is American Heart Month. A-1 Home Care will be focusing on heart healthy tips for seniors

For adults over 50, the benefits of healthy eating include increased mental acuteness, resistance to illness and disease, higher energy levels, faster recuperation times, and better management of chronic health problems. As we age, eating well can also be the key to a positive outlook and staying emotionally balanced. But heart healthy eating doesn't have to be about dieting and sacrifice. Whatever your age, eating well should be all about fresh, colorful food, creativity in the kitchen, and eating with friends.

Once you’re used to eating nutrient-dense food, your body will feel slow and sluggish if you eat less wholesome fare. Here’s how to get in the habit of eating well.
  • Reduce sodium
  • Enjoy good fats.
  • Add fiber.
  • Avoid “bad” carbs.
  • Look for hidden sugar.
  • Cook smart.
  • Put five colors on your plate
A-1 Home Care provides home care in Calabasas, BurbankBeverly Hills, Woodland Hills, Malibu, Hollywood, and other cities in Los Angeles County. With 20+ years of experience as an industry leader, you will surely find the service you are looking for.

Starting an exercise routine for the New Year/ Senior Care with A-1 Home Care

Starting or maintaining a regular exercise routine can be a challenge as you become a senior. You may feel discouraged by illness, ongoing health problems, or concerns about injuries or falls. Or, if you've never exercised before, you may not know where to begin. Or perhaps you think you're too old or frail, or that exercise is boring or simply not for you.

While these may seem like good reasons to slow down and take it easy as seniors age, they're actually even better reasons to get moving. Exercise can energize your mood, relieve stress, help you manage symptoms of illness and pain, and improve your overall sense of well-being. In fact, exercise is the key to staying strong, energetic, and healthy as you get older. And it can even be fun, too.

This month, A-1 Home Care will be providing arts and crafts activities at the Downey Care Center on January 20th. We'd love for you to join, if you or a loved one is staying there.

Remember, there are simple and effective exercises that work for multiple body types and conditions. Consult your physician to find the regiment right for you!
